Take one part Willy Wonka, one part Luis Bunuel and one part David Lynch, shake it with a dash of Wes Anderson and a skateboard and voila! That’s what Machotaildrop feels like an approximation of. It’s hard to give an accurate critical analysis of this film because the film is trying with every frame to defy convention, resulting in one of the weirdest cinematic experiences you could have.

The acting is wooden, especially by the lead, Anthony Amedori, but it seems almost purposefully so -- like it’s part of the elaborate joke that the film is trying to tell. There are also some notions of selling out and making it to the top of whatever industry you’re part of, but without any discernible talent. However, more than anything, this film is an excuse to be as weird as possible. Considering the low budget, this indie looks like it's a lot more than it actually is.and Delfina Delettrez, is killin me with all this fine avant garde pieces .god.
